Review:  OK, so lets get one thing out of the way right now… most of you wont be getting in… sorry :(

This new club is not huge and the bouncers/promoters are VERY selective of who they let in through the velvet rope and that means. The girl to guy ratio seems to be 3 to 1, and there is a reason for that: THEY DONT LET GUYS IN (well, without girls anyway, and even then you should try and keep the 3 to 1 ratio). The line is usually very long and if you’ve been waiting in line for longer than 30 minutes you might as well go home or somewhere else.

If you MUST go to this venue (and you should sometime), do yourself a favor, get some friends together and reserve bottle/table service. Thats what I did a couple of months ago, and had a great time. The couches are very comfortable and the service staff is very nice and polite. On top of that, you just bypassed the line outside AND you can start pulling girls off the floor and making friends.

Bottom Line:  If you’re shy, quiet, ugly, or a group of dudes, STAY AWAY. If you’re social, can BS your way into places, a hot girl, or a dude with an entourage of hot girls, then WELCOME!!!

Review: This club is not as exclusive and as hard to get into as they want you to think, yet its a great club non-the-less. Go on friday night, as the door on saturday night is alot harder to walk through, yet the venue is still just as fun on friday as it is on saturday. There is no guestlist that you can just sign up on the web, BUT there is a Promoter’s list. So call ahead, find out who’s promoting, gather some info and get there earlier than later. Then talk to the door guys, use your head, BS a bit, and you’re IN!

Once inside, you’ll enjoy the beautiful people, the good music, and the guy to girl ratio that will make you appreciate the the bouncers’ efforts to keep the “guys only” parties out.

The bartenders and the waitresses are rude, in fact probably the nicest guy in the whole place is the men’s restroom attendant, but unless you are paying for bottle/table service, who cares. You dont come to AREA for the service, atleast I dont. I come to get f*cked up, dance and meet people.

The drinks are expensive and sometimes watered down, so if you dont want to spend a fortune on drinks, use your head(again), and go make friends with people that are getting bottle service and in 10 minutes they will literally be pouring Grey Goose down your throat.

Bottom Line: The velvet rope can be a hurdle, and you will most likely freeze your ass off, go home angry and bitch about it on citysearch the next morning, if you are shy and have the “ill just be patient and wait in line” attitude… But if you are outgoing and can BS your way inside you will have a great night, we do it atleast twice a month :)
